Earthly Comedy “The Third Gospel According to Andrius” | TAMSTA

On May 21st at the live music club “Tamsta”, actor Andrius Kaniava will present the down-to-earth comedy “Trečioji Evangelija Pagal Andrių”. The audience will enjoy an open conversation with the actor about ordinary and special people in extraordinary times.

Witty, philosophical, based on true stories and facts, Andrius Kaniava will invite you to travel together to the recent past, to the period that begins in the 90s and ends in the 2000s. For some, this is a time of their adolescence and discoveries, for another generation – a time of sudden changes.

After the restoration of independence, everything that appeared in society was new and unprecedented. Better, more beautiful, higher quality, tastier. More fragrant. It was a time when traditions and home environments were changing, the streets were flooded with cars previously only seen in magazines, wardrobes were filled with Western fashion, and satellite television allowed you to turn on any channel you wanted. Based on the irony and insights of Andrius Užkalnis and the melodies of that era, Andrius Kaniava will not let the audience get bored and will dive into memories together – WHERE we lived, WHAT we drove, WHERE and WHAT we ate, HOW we dressed, HOW we entertained.

“During the first decade of Independent Lithuania, we absorbed everything uncritically and immediately. For it to be different, we needed time and experience, and there was no time and experience. This was the period of our great learning, of whitened knees and bloody knuckles. And our past, which is already resting in the museum. The only thing from those times that has not yet reached the museum is ourselves. This is exactly what we are going to talk about – ourselves,” promises Andrius Kaniava, inviting us to the premiere of the mundane comedy.
