The participants of the Circle of sutartinės, singing sutartines, will move from the Bernardinai Garden to the Šventaragis Valley, behind the Gediminas Monument, to the oak tree dedicated to the international folklore festival ‘Skamba skamba kankliai’. Here, the circle of sutartinės will be filled with a feeling of empowering unity, and the joy of the green, fast-growing oak tree, symbolising the strength of the festival community, will join the roar of voices.
The event ‘The Three Oaks of the Middle Manor’ is not a concert, but a circle of all lovers of sutartinės, which the audience is invited to join. It is a great opportunity for everyone, both Lithuanians and visitors from abroad, to get acquainted with the whole variety of sutartinės in one place and to admire the tradition of polyphonic singing, which is inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
‘The Three Oaks of the Middle Manor is one of the events of the 2025 International Folklore Festival ’Skamba skamba kankliai”. Detailed festival programme: https://www.ssk.lt/en/programa. Festival events are free of charge.
