Can you feel the warm wave of jazz flowing through the streets of Vilnius Old Town? “Downtown Piano Lab” invites you to an evening where two creative tornadoes, Viktorija Gečytė, a world-renowned jazz vocalist living in France, and Vytautas Straižys, a pianist-visionary, will meet.
Victoria’s voice is like the velvety breeze from the clubs of New York: free, refined, intoxicatingly swinging. The author of three albums, she can easily paint a whole palette of colours: from romantic blues shadows to the glowing fires of swing. Inspired by Peterson and Evans as well as Rachmaninov, Vytautas uses the keys to create a cinematic film where harmonies are as thick as latte foam and improvisations rush like rivers in spring.
This night, their dialogue is a story without words, combining Parisian conversations, the neon of Broadway and the magic of Lithuanian summer. Come by, put down your cup, sit back and let the music wash away the worries of the day.
Two additional stars during the concert are the cats Coltrane and Evans that promise perfect… silence. But their presence can be felt beyond the heart.
If cats’ love make you sneeze, antihistamines are not included in the programme, but are highly recommended
We invite you to meet us and enjoy!
