On May 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, the opening of Gintaras Jocius’s caricature and cartoon exhibition titled “Let’s Not Take It Too Seriously” will take place at the open and dynamic Hey Art art spaces.
The exhibition’s author is a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union, the Lithuanian Caricaturists Association, and the “Secret Society of Drawing Artists.” His creative journey has spanned over 30 years.
He is a versatile personality working across various art fields: from book illustrations, caricatures, and comics to graphics, painting, frescoes, and performances. The artist’s works are regularly exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad.
The exhibition “Let’s Not Take It Too Seriously” offers not only visually sharp but also an ironic look at well-known Lithuanian and international figures and related current issues. The exhibition subtly combines humor, imagination, and sharp artistic insight, inviting visitors to pause for a moment and look at serious matters with a smile — without exaggerating, but also without banalizing.
During the exhibition opening, visitors will have the chance to meet the prototypes behind the caricatures. The opening speech will be given by the patriarch of Lithuanian caricature, Jonas Varnas.
The exhibition author will invite attendees to join a guessing game, “Who’s This?” and winners will leave the exhibition with their own caricature (Caricatures will be drawn during the opening by Aurimas Matusevičius and Nerijus Baublys).
You are warmly invited to attend!
