The Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum participates every year in the European Museum Night, which marks International Museum Day.
Next year, the museum will celebrate its centenary and has prepared a rich and meaningful program called “Museum Unites.” This year, visitors can explore three discovery-filled spaces.
Free exhibition visits will take place from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The exhibition “Observed: Censorship in Lithuanian Art, 20th–21st Century” attempts to tell the story of recent Lithuanian cultural history through the prism of restrictions on artistic freedom. It is closely linked with the exhibition about the fight against censorship and the regime: Zenonas Nekrošius’ “Lens of Freedom”, featuring photos from 1988–1991 capturing moments of the nation’s awakening and rise toward freedom.
The exhibition “Maps of Eimuntas Nekrošius’ Performances” displays stage layouts—“maps” created by the director and his creative team that later became the structures of the performances.
