The fourth season of the MO Yard open-air concert series is here, bringing even more fresh and familiar names to the museum terrace for evenings of musical exploration and discovery.
As every year, we set our sights on new horizons – this time blending alternative and popular music with sound art. Across three concerts, both music connoisseurs and wider city audiences will find something new to add to their playlists.
Curated by: Marius Libas
MO Yard events are free and open to all.
PERFORMERS
In the first concert of the summer, sonic landscapes meet traditional songwriting, revealing themes of emotional sensitivity and inner well-being. Through ambient textures and heartfelt vocals, these artists explore a new Lithuanian musical identity, while embracing global sonic traditions.
The MO Yard concert season kicks off with:
Paulius Kilbauskas – A composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for blending genres and telling stories through music. His work fuses electronica, jazz, neoclassical, and world music influences. Over his decades-long career, Paulius has created music for films, theater, interdisciplinary projects, and sound installations. He is a recipient of the “Silver Crane” award and has been recognized at international film festivals in France and Latvia, establishing him as one of the most versatile composers of his generation.
Livija Gemma – A singer, songwriter, and producer who released her debut album “Dangus jau rausta” earlier this year. Her music, situated in the realm of alternative and indie pop, is marked by atmospheric synths, subtle percussion, and the warmth of live-recorded piano and guitar. NARA journalist Karolis Vyšniauskas notes: “If you listen to Big Thief, Laura Marling, or Sufjan Stevens, you’re likely to connect with Livija’s music.”
Kabloonak – A poetically sensitive and maturely sarcastic storyteller, blending modern folk and alternative music. His songs are like short films – vignettes of city life, fleeting romances, and the silent pauses in between. With classical guitar sounds, a Leonard Cohen-esque voice, and narrative songwriting, Kabloonak has earned recognition at the M.A.M.A. Awards (Alternative Artist of the Year, 2019) and AGATA Awards (Album of the Year, 2019). His music video “Bruises On Her Legs” received a special mention at the Riga International Film Festival, and his work frequently appears in Lithuanian films and theater.
