A green space in our capital city, so why not a green concert! In fact, this will be an entertaining performance by the multi-instrumentalist Remis Rančys, where he’ll be playing music and talking “fondly about things that make us go green, and ironically about things that make us wither away”. In other words, expect a recipe for a good life, delivered using various instruments – the guitar, mbira, percussion, flutes and the piano.

The musician tells us how he likes “colourful programmes where each work sounds unlike the last”. That means his inspiration can come from books, journeys or films… Yet it is real-life events that provide inspiration for his most impactful compositions. These are situations in which one can easily recognise themselves, or even different personas of dubious character. However, add to this the excellent sense of humour of the performer and a smile on your dial is unavoidable.

According to Rančys, music is a marvellous medium for sensing and reflecting on things that words can’t quite capture. So it all depends on you – what will you take away from the Green Concert?
