A Concert in the Dark “Let’s See the Music”

Pianist Eglė Kižytė-Ramonienė and violinist Monika Urbonaitė invite you to experience classical music in a completely new way – in the dark.

Classical music concerts are typically associated with grand halls, well-lit stages, and visual splendor. However, this time, pianist Eglė Kižytė-Ramonienė and violinist Monika Urbonaitė invite listeners to experience classical music in a unique and unconventional setting – in darkness.

Research shows that humans receive most information through sight, yet music has the power to awaken the imagination, even when the surroundings are cloaked in darkness. During the concert, listeners will experience music without any visual distractions, allowing sound to fill the space and the imagination to create vivid inner landscapes.

To make the experience even more engaging and intimate, the program will be accompanied by short stories about the performed pieces, the ingenuity of the composers, and the emotions evoked by the music. This will provide the audience with a deeper understanding of the music and its subtleties.

At the end of the concert, lights will gradually illuminate the venue, and the audience will have the opportunity to explore the space where this special experience took place and meet the performers.

The program brings together masterpieces from various eras and styles – featuring works by G. F. Telemann, G. F. Handel, the elegance of F. Kreisler, the impressionism of Debussy, and the romanticism of E. Elgar and C. Franck.
