Concert VISIBLE MUSIC | Twenty Fingers Duo

On May 19, Monday at 7 PM Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center invites you to the concert “Visible Music”, which will take place at the VAA Chess Hall.

The concert will feature new works by Šarūnas Nakas, Liepa Vozgirdaitė, Agnė Matulevičiūtė, and Matas Drukteinis, inspired by Fluxus artifacts. The composers were invited to participate in an exhibition that is currently on view at the Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center. This exhibition, along with the pieces to be performed at the concert, reveal the influence of the Fluxus movement on contemporary creators and invite the audience to reconsider the relationship between sound and image, as well as to discover unexpected interactions between these artistic forms. The inspiration for the compositions comes from the Fluxus collection held by the Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center.

The new works will be performed by the contemporary music ensemble “Twenty Fingers Duo” – violinist Lora Kmieliauskaitė and cellist Arnas Kmieliauskas – one of the most awaited performers in the presentation of new music.

Concert venue: Chess Hall of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Malūnų St. 5, Vilnius.
