What happens when techno is no longer just music played in a club or at a forest clearing rave, but a cultural phenomenon showcased in national museums?
In April this year, the Swiss National Museum in Zurich opened the exhibition TECHNO. The exhibition invites visitors to view this movement as a social, political, and urban phenomenon. From small but tightly knit communities and urban outskirts to institutional recognition – the path of techno reveals how music becomes an element of collective memory.
A discussion with Dr. Luca Tori, Chief Curator at the Swiss National Museum, offers a chance to explore Switzerland’s club scene and its connection to the broader European techno landscape. The discussion is moderated by Justė Kostikovaitė, curator of the exhibition “RAVE NATION. To the Rhythms of the Night – Towards Freedom. 1992–2004”.
The event will be held in English at the Exhibition Events Space 2.3 powered by “Labas”.
