“Unlearned Lessons” is a play-concert that boldly fuses theatre and indie rock, brought to life by an inspiring script written by Aleksandr Špilevoj himself.
With four actors, five musicians, and twelve intertwined music-text compositions, the performance dives deep into what we were never taught in school – the essential life lessons beyond equations, sprinting times, and memorized dates.
But the play does not point fingers.
Its characters, caught in their own fears and ambitions, take a momentary journey back to the eighth grade, in search of clarity.
This is not just a show for students – “Unlearned Lessons” is for anyone questioning their choices and the world around them.
The play is also a return home for Špilevoj – not a documentary, but a deeply personal work filled with the echoes of a former student roaming school corridors.
“We wanted to create something exciting not just for theatre-goers, but also for those who visit the theatre even less often than church. I believe we’ve succeeded. ‘Unlearned Lessons’ is modern theatre at its core – and at the same time, a live concert by ‘Colours of Bubbles’. So we won’t be teaching – we’ll be sharing this experience with you.”
