The University of Virginia’s (UVA) premier choir will present a unique program of American choral tradition at the CHORŲ PAVASARIS festival in Vilnius.
Founded in 1957, the ensemble has long been an integral part of both the university’s and the local Virginia community’s cultural life. For over two decades, it has been led by esteemed conductor Professor Michael Slon.
This versatile choir is renowned for its high-level interpretations, ranging from classical repertoire to premieres of contemporary works — including pieces by Verdi, Stravinsky, Whitacre, and other composers. Their performances offer an emotional musical experience that combines professionalism with a strong sense of community.
The ensemble has performed throughout the United States and Europe, collaborating with notable partners such as the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge, the Brno Philharmonic Choir, and vocalist Bobby McFerrin.
We warmly invite everyone who longs for inspiring choral music!
