Painting Exhibition by Asta Kiršienė: “Blooming Mothers”

The painting exhibition “Blooming Mothers” by artist Asta Kiršienė reveals a deep connection between femininity and nature, particularly through floral motifs, which frequently appear in her work. In these pieces, flowers and blooming become symbols expressing maternal love, care, and boundless vitality. Asta subtly merges colors with organic floral forms, creating emotional and elegant works. Her paintings not only celebrate motherhood but also explore a woman’s place in the world, reflecting both tenderness and strength. The exhibition highlights not only the aesthetic beauty of our surroundings but also conveys a deeper meaning – a metaphor for the connection between nature and motherhood.

About the Artist

Asta Kiršienė (b. 1970) grew up in the beautiful town of Druskininkai. Her artistic journey began in childhood, drawing everything around her that moved or inspired her – from flowers to fairy tale worlds. She loved expressing her feelings and moods through colors, and thus, without hesitation, chose the path of art. She studied at the Druskininkai Children’s Art School, the Kaunas School of Applied Arts, and later at the Faculty of Arts at Šiauliai Pedagogical University.

Asta also explored the world of illustration (e.g., The Forest Book by Gediminas Isoka) and worked at the Vilnius animation studio “Vilanima” (1996–1997).

Currently, Asta Kiršienė lives in Vilnius, where she works as an art teacher at the private international school Erudito Licėjus and the art studio Spalvų Juokas. She helps her students discover the world through creativity, and she pursues her own artistic practice during her free time for personal enjoyment.

In 2006, Asta discovered her passion for silk painting, and in 2016 she began working in oil painting.

Asta captures our existence through color and emotion, sometimes building bridges to a parallel world where we encounter fairy tales and even more beauty… Simple things – like a blossom, a bud, a tree, a forest – begin to delight us, because we pause, fall silent, notice… and start to feel. We smile.
