The European Night of Museums is organized by the French Ministry of Culture (specifically, the French Museums and the Department of Information and Communication), in collaboration with the Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs (DRAC). The event is held under the patronage of UNESCO, the Council of Europe, ICOM France, and numerous institutional and media partners.
The Vilnius University Museum of Geology is joining this initiative of the international museum community and announces its participation in the “European Night of Museums” – 2025 event.
“An Exceptional Natural Phenomenon: The Destructive and Creative Geological Activity of Volcanoes”
During the guided tour, using slides and video materials, you will learn about different types of volcanoes and their destructive and creative geological effects. At the museum, you will see rocks formed by volcanic activity and learn how to identify them.
