During the tour, we will embark on a journey through the world created by Kazys Varnelis – a master of optical art and a collector! Nearly 10,000 works are exhibited in one of the oldest buildings in Vilnius: the world’s largest collection of K. Varnelis’s own paintings and sculptures, along with European and Far Eastern art from the 15th to 20th centuries, historical furniture, and maps. The exhibition is full of visual surprises: optical illusions, theatrical mise-en-scènes, and unexpected spatial transformations. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the most valuable books from K. Varnelis’s library and visit the artist’s impressive studio – spaces not accessible with a regular visitor’s ticket.
