From Singapore to Venice: Danguolė Lingytė and Andrea Monarda

A programme of internationally acclaimed guitarists Danguolė Lingytė and Andrea Monarda (Italy), fusing classical and contemporary guitar sounds.

Two talented artists, Andrea Monarda, an internationally acclaimed Italian guitarist, and Danguolė Lingytė, an active contemporary classical guitarist, will combine their experience and skills to present a programme that will blend the sounds of music from different eras and cultures.

Danguolė Lingytė is a Lithuanian guitarist whose stage experience extends from Europe to Asia. She is an active participant in contemporary music projects and collaborates with composers and performers from different countries. Danguolė’s interpretations are distinguished by sensitivity and deep musical understanding, and her concerts are always full of expressiveness and emotional impact.

Andrea Monarda is a performer whose interpretations fascinate music lovers around the world. His playing is distinguished by technical virtuosity and a special attention to the nuances of sound. He performs extensively throughout Europe and Asia, collaborating with contemporary composers, performing both classical and modern music, exploring new sonic possibilities.

The concert will feature a wide-ranging and colourful programme, from traditional works by classical guitar composers Mauro

Giuliani and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, to modern and contemporary compositions by composers such as Francisco Mignone (Brazil), Gerald Garcia (Hong Kong) and Shao Ying Low (Singapore). This is a great opportunity to hear a variety of guitar music, from delicate, lyrical melodies to the expressive and energetic sounds of contemporary music.

About the artists:

Danguolė Lingytė is a Lithuanian classical guitarist, teacher and jury member of international competitions. She actively participates in the contemporary European guitar scene by performing works of modern composers and by hosting masterclasses in different countries. On 23 February 2025, Danguolė made her debut at the Miami International Guitar Festival (USA), where she not only performed as a soloist but also as a teacher.

Andrea Monarda is an Italian guitarist whose musical career spans both virtuoso performances and in-depth exploration of composers’ works. His performances are often highly acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. Monarda has released numerous albums, including works inspired by composers such as Villa-Lobos, Mignone and Gnattali, which have received extremely positive reviews. His album of guitar works by Villa-Lobos received five-star reviews in the prestigious music publications Musica and Amadeus. It has also been broadcast on radio stations such as Radio France, Radio Vaticana and Discovery Classical (USA).
