Christopher festival | The Aksel Kolstad show

AKSEL KOLSTAD (piano, Norway)

A virtuoso piano recital with both the pianist’s own compositions – and lots of humour! A virtuoso pianist from Norway inviting you to a concert with great music and hilarious presentations! Aksel Kolstad is often referred to as the “Quentin Tarantino of classical music” and “the new Norwegian Victor Borge” by the international press.

Wherever he performs, whether it’s at Carnegie Hall or at Europe’s most prestigious music festivals, the scenario is the same – standing ovations are the norm, and always plenty of smiling faces. And with good reason: Kolstad combines humour and classical music in a way you have never experienced it before, creating a lively, engaging spectacle. As New York Times wrote: “He is one of very few in the world that is able to present classical music in this particular way”.
If you still think that a classical piano recital is not for you, this evening will completely change your mind as to what a “serious classical concert” is all about. Come and see how music, humour and improvisation fuse together to bring you a completely new perspective, and the best of emotions!

Programme features J. S. Bach, E. Grieg, A. Kolstad, F. Chopin and others
