From September 10, the LNAM Museum of Applied Arts and Design will invite visitors to discover 15 promising perspectives on the future of design in the exhibition “Young Designer’s Prize 2026.”
The competition has been organized by the Vilnius Academy of Arts’ Design Innovation Centre since 2011. Over more than a decade, the initiative has become an important part of Lithuania’s design scene, encouraging students’ competitiveness and development while helping them take their first steps toward professional careers. Alongside the nominations and awards, an exhibition of the competition’s best works is organized each year, giving creators an opportunity to present their work beyond the academic community.
This year, the competition received as many as 91 applications. The exhibition presents 15 projects selected by an international jury—three in each of the following categories: product design, communication design, fashion design, interior design, and design research.
The exhibition opening will take place on September 10, Thursday, at 6:00 PM.
On Friday, September 11, at 2:00 PM, you are invited to an educational workshop with one of the exhibition participants, Ringailė Demšytė (registration required). During the workshop, participants will be introduced to Physarum polycephalum, a slime mold often used in biological and interdisciplinary research, and will explore its potential in experimental design, bio-art, and visual research.
