“I don’t care about pretty things. My trousers have cigarette burns, my shirts have stains. I eat whatever, and I hate snobbery. The only thing I truly care about is being with the people I love.” That’s how Yellow Days introduces himself.

At just 26, he sings and writes like someone who’s lived several lifetimes. But he’s made a promise: once he grows old, he’ll no longer go by Yellow Days. Right now, his music is an ode to youth, and he sure knows how to celebrate it.

Music magazine Clash describes his sound as a fusion of The Shining, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The White Lotus, and Twin Peaks. The Guardian calls him something between Joe Cocker and King Krule. “When I make music, I think about the feeling first—only then do I think about the theme.”
