Every year, the winemakers of Le Puy select several barrels of their finest wine and send them on a journey aboard a cargo sailing vessel across the Atlantic Ocean. For almost a year, the wine travels under the influence of nothing but the forces of nature: ocean waves, salty air, and changes in temperature and pressure. When it returns to shore, it has acquired a character that could never be created in a cellar, becoming one of the world’s most intriguing wines – “Retour des Îles”.
The story of Château Le Puy began in 1610 in the Bordeaux region. For 15 generations, the same family has cultivated its vineyards here, guided by biodynamic philosophy. Their wines are made without intervention in the natural process, while preserving a deep connection to the land and to nature.
The same focus on origin and place lies at the heart of Deep Roots and chef Andrius Kubilius, who tells his story through cuisine. Here, the roots of the dishes literally grow at the Farmers Circle farm. It is a cuisine about home, origins, ingredients, and where their stories can lead next.
We invite you to a special tasting dinner with Emeline Callet, representative of Château Le Puy, and chef Andrius Kubilius – an evening where wine that has travelled across the ocean meets dishes born from the land.
Date & time: October 6, 6:30 PM
Location: Deep Roots restaurant (14 Trakų St., Vilnius)
Price: €295 / person
The dinner will be held in Lithuanian and English. Places are very limited.
