On June 14 at 6:00 PM, a concert titled LUX: “Virgo” & “Voices of Wisconsin” will take place at St. John’s Church to commemorate the Day of Mourning and Hope.
The event is organized by Vilnius University (VU) Culture Center in collaboration with the VU women’s choir “Virgo,” conducted by Rasa Gelgotienė, with Indrė Pinkevičė as the choir director. The concert will also feature guest performers from the United States – the mixed choir “Voices of Wisconsin,” led by Herb Berendsen. The program will include Lux Aeterna and O Salutaris Hostia by Ēriks Ešenvalds, as well as works by P. Janczak, R. Dubra, L. Abaris, M. K. Čiurlionis, and American composers T. Robertson, G. Walker, K. Pederson, and L. L. Fleming. The concert will conclude with a joint performance by both choirs of M. K. Čiurlionis’ piece Oi giria, giria.
The event is free and open to all.
