What lies behind lyrics, stage language, symbols, and sounds? What are artists trying to say when they don’t always speak in words?
We’re launching a new discussion series, “The Language of Creators,” where we’ll talk with contemporary Lithuanian artists about the symbolism in their work and the ways they express themselves.
In the first discussion, we’ll dive into the creative language of the band Garbanotas – from lyrics to visuals, from the stage to silence. The conversation will be moderated by Laisvūnas Čekavičius, a PhD student at Vilnius University’s Faculty of Philology and an educator at the House of the Tower Keeper.
What symbols dominate their art? What meanings do they assign to them? What message does their art convey?
Come, listen, feel.
