VOICES AND THE KEYS
(An evening of Giedrius Kuprevičius’ works)

The programme is presented by the ensemble Gijos: singers Emilė Elena Dačinskaitė, Dominykas Urba, Domas Saulevičius and pianists Saulė Augustina Žostautaitė and Liudmila Mešenina.

The composer Giedrius Kuprevičius is one of the most prominent personalities of Lithuanian music, and for several decades his work has been shaping the cultural landscape of the country. The concert “Voices and Keys” will feature his vocal and piano works – from the well-known to the less frequently performed, but no less valuable scores.

The programme is presented by the ensemble “Gijos” – a collective of young music professionals, bringing together talented performers from various Lithuanian cities. Started in Šilutė in 2021, the members of the ensemble are now actively performing in Lithuania and abroad, with a repertoire covering both classical chamber and operatic music. This concert focuses on the live sound of Giedrius Kuprevičius music – as it is heard and conveyed today by the new generation of performers. This is a great opportunity to hear the well-known composer from a different angle, through the interpretations of young, creative musicians.

Founded in 2024 by the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union, the Nessun Dorma… Nobody Sleeps…” presents programmes of chamber works and jazz music by Lithuanian artists. Each night of the event, Serenades (academic music) will be performed from 9 pm and Jazz Nights from 11 pm.
