September 1st celebration on the museum rooftop

On September 1st, we will celebrate the start of the new school year together on the museum rooftop, offering stunning views of Vilnius’ finest spires and rooftops. This year, we have prepared engaging activities for all ages—with something for both children and adults to enjoy:

• Scientific Experiments

11:00 AM–3:00 PM | Museum Rooftop

Did you know that liquid nitrogen is so cold (-196 °C) that if you freeze a flower petal with it, it will shatter like fragile glass? A nitrogen show and (safe) fire experiments await you on the museum rooftop!

• Guided Tour: “A Day at the Power Plant”

11:00 AM and 3:00 PM | Tour starting point: Boiler Hall

During this themed tour of Vilnius’ first power plant, visitors will learn about its operations, equipment, and history. The session features modern interactive tools and active games.

• Educational Workshop: “Rocket”

11:00 AM–3:00 PM | Boiler Hall

Fascinated by space and what happens up there? Great! Our guides will gladly tell you all about it, and together you will build a rocket to launch into space.

• 3D Pens

11:00 AM–3:00 PM | Museum Rooftop

Using 3D pens, you can create a unique handmade piece to take home. This activity boosts fine motor skills, improves concentration, and offers a relaxing experience.

• Water Foam & Soap Bubbles

11:00 AM–3:00 PM | Museum Rooftop

Weather permitting, children can blow giant soap bubbles and dance in water foam all day long. To ensure the best experience, we recommend bringing swimsuits and towels.

• Game: “Lost Energy”

12:00 PM–2:00 PM | Condenser Hall

Equipped with helmets, headlamps, and safety vests, players will explore a darkened space in the Condenser Hall to uncover fragments of history and piece them together chronologically. Register here.

• Voice Workshop with the Choir “Dainuojam”

3:00 PM | Museum Rooftop

Calling everyone who loves (or wants to fall in love with) singing and their own voice! Join our workshop where we will come together as a choir, learn to embrace our voices, and express ourselves freely. Perfection isn’t the goal—singing together is. Everyone is welcome: children, youth, adults, and seniors. All you need is a desire to connect and a love for music.
