CHRISTIAN ALEJANDRO ALMADA
(organ, Italy)
Duration:
60 min.
Christian Alejandro Almada is the main organist at the Papal Basilica of Saint Paul outside the Walls (Rome), the director of the music council, an expert in Gregorian chant and a composer.
He began his career as a pianist at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Cordoba (Argentina), yet while studying the organ and composition at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome, the performer absolutely fell in love with this instrument. He is enamoured by the seemingly infinite sound spectrum offered by the organ, its dynamic potential, its unique handling and its rich repertoire. So, for his concert programmes, Almada goes to all lengths to ensure that these aspects will be revealed in all their splendour.
In addition to his concert activities, such as being a doctor of philosophy and public theology, Almada regularly organises conferences relating to these fields, gives lectures in Italy and abroad, and also provides guidance to groups of the laity to consider faith.
The centre of works offered in this programme revolves around Buenos Aires and dance, so come and experience how unbelievably spiritual, multifaceted and multilayered it can be.
