BENAS JONUŠAS (organ)
Inviting you to the colourful world of organ music, Benas Jonušas boasts a no less colourful biography. His musical path spans different epochs and experiences – from the sound of early music played on historical instruments, to improvisation born here and now, and sound experiments.
Studies in Manchester, Salzburg, Vilnius and currently – at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, coupled with countless appearances on Lithuanian and foreign stages, festivals, concert halls and presentations of his own projects. Yet, what’s most important is not numbers. At Jonušas’ performances one can feel constant movement, searching, a desire to go beyond boundaries. In his hands, the organ changes – it astounds, engages, and opens new sonic horizons.
This evening’s programme is no exception. There’ll be music representing different epochs and moods, however the key lies hidden in the title of Naji Hakim’s work – Jeg elsker den brogede verden (I love the colourful world).
That’s exactly what this concert will be like – colourful, surprising, and revealing a completely new face of organ music.
Programme features music by Nicolaus Bruhns, Naji Hakim, Thomas Tallis and others
