A special city wall – the neo-fresco “Shagal’s Blue” – has been opened in the courtyard of the Litvaks (Pylimo g. 4A). It is dedicated to the world famous Litvak artist Marc Chagall, whose links with Vilnius were until now little known.
The work is the result of a shared vision between Lina Šlipavičiūtė, a master of stencil painting, and Laurynas Kiškytė, a metal sculptor (art laboratory “Kiaurai sienas”). It is a multi-layered urban artwork that makes sense of the memory of interwar Vilnius.
The project was funded by Vilnius City Municipality.
