“A culture survives only as much as we are able to pass it on to our children.”
— K. J.
“For Adults Only” is a tragicomic theatrical and creative investigation directed by Justas Tertelis, exploring one central question: how and when do we become adults? And what does being an adult actually mean today?
Is simply reaching the legally defined age of adulthood (18 years old) enough to be ready for all the responsibilities that come with entering the “adult world” — the right to vote, participate in civic life, drive, make independent choices, and take responsibility for our actions?
A talented ensemble of actors, well known and loved by theatre audiences, skillfully explores these themes through vivid and recognizable characters, turning the stage into a mirror reflecting our own lives. The variety of tragicomic situations experienced by the characters keeps the audience engaged while inviting them to search for answers:
What kind of person can grow up in today’s society? Who is responsible for that? Can responsibility truly belong to anyone?
“For Adults Only” is the latest play by Justas Tertelis, continuing the tradition of the Open Circle Theatre Laboratory — creating Lithuanian dramaturgy and speaking openly through theatre.
The performance carries the distinctive style of Open Circle Theatre: through simplicity, authenticity, recognizable everyday situations, and powerful acting, it creates a dialogue with the audience, encouraging reflection, participation, and a shared experience of themes that are relevant today but often left unspoken.
We invite you to enjoy theatre while discovering a reflection of yourself on stage.
