SPECTRUM: INVISIBLE STORIES

The performance “Spectrum” invites audiences to take a closer look at human diversity — the many different ways we see, hear, and experience the world.

Created according to the principles of the Open Circle Theatre Laboratory, the performance is based on real-life stories, actors’ improvisations developed during rehearsals, and elements of storytelling. It encourages us to pause and notice the stories that often remain unseen — to listen to voices that are rarely heard in everyday life.

Director Justas Tertelis, together with the actors and the entire creative team, explores the unique experiences of neurodivergent people and invites audiences to see neurotypical people from a different perspective — to broaden their understanding and rethink the boundaries of what is considered “normal.”

In “Spectrum”, viewers encounter a wide range of personal stories that help challenge stereotypes about autistic people and offer a deeper understanding of the diverse ways people experience the world around us.

The performance is based on the book “Autism – A Part of Me” by Jurgita Žalgirytė-Skurdenienė and Barbora Suisse. The book presents, for the first time in Lithuania, the stories of autistic adults, offering insight into their everyday lives, the challenges they face, and the ways they navigate and overcome them.
