“Pulkininko nuotrauka” is a strange detective story that takes us to a beautiful, dazzling city where inexplicable things are happening: people are being killed, the boundaries between good and evil are disappearing, obvious facts become questionable, and absurdity triumphs because, having turned into a routine, it becomes the norm of everyday life. There, logic works like a broken clock – it ticks, but shows the wrong time or shows nothing at all.

It is a story about a society that reacts sluggishly to evil because it is easier to live that way, and about one person trying to resist it.

Written in 1958 by Eugène Ionesco, one of the pioneers of Theatre of the Absurd, the play is frighteningly relevant today and… not absurd at all.
