The summer begins, and with it returns the event series “Through Open Windows” at the House of Signatories!
Once again, the unique courtyard of the House of Signatories opens up to poetry and sound. You’re invited to experience a synthesis of poetry and music drifting out through open windows!

Participants
Eugenijus Ališanka – poet, essayist, translator. Born in exile in Barnaul (Siberia), he has published 7 poetry books and 4 collections of essays. A recipient of major literary awards, including the Jotvingiai Prize and Maironis Prize, Ališanka is one of Lithuania’s most prominent literary voices.
Sara Poisson – writer, provocateur, and 11-time author, including 5 poetry collections. Known for her raw, unapologetic style, she calls herself a noisy outsider who often chooses anonymity. Her latest poetry collection, “Niekas, pasiruošęs patriukšmauti” (2025), explores the poetic power of the unspoken and the inexpressible.
Rimas Užgiris – Lithuanian-American poet, academic, and one of the most acclaimed translators of Lithuanian literature into English. He teaches literature, translation, and creative writing at Vilnius University, and has received a Fulbright grant, the St. Jerome Prize, and the Poezijos pavasaris Translation Award.
Julija Šatkauskaitė-Jurgelė – sound artist, actress, and director. Member of the electronic/folk duo Iltys, Julija creates radio dramas, audio guides, and sound compositions. Her works have received awards at Prix Marulic and Grand Prix Nova.
