This year we’re celebrating a very special anniversary – Pippi Longstocking turns 80!
The most famous character of Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren returns to the Raganiukė Theatre stage in a refreshed version, but still just as wild and free-spirited as decades ago!
Pippi Longstocking is a cheerful, incredibly strong, independent and kind-hearted girl with sticking-out braids, mismatched socks and an endless desire to live freely.
The character was born when Astrid Lindgren was caring for her sick daughter Karin, who asked her mother to invent a story about such a girl. That’s how Pippi was created – a children’s literature icon loved all over the world.
Did you know that in the performance Pippi Longstocking you can see real circus artists?
They amaze the audience with breathtaking tricks, acrobatics and hilarious antics – just like at Pippi’s dream fiesta!
The performance returns to the Raganiukė Theatre stage as a new premiere – renewed, yet preserving what matters most: Pippi’s spirit.
