On May 7, 2026, at 17:00, the painting and scenography exhibition “Two Paths” by painter and scenographer Giedrė Riškutė-Kariniauskienė and ceramic artist Algimantas Patamsis will open at the LPC Art Gallery (J. Matulaičio Sq. 3, Vilnius).
The exhibition invites visitors to look at two distinct creative worlds where colour and form, intuition and technology, emotion and material intersect. It is a meeting of two artistic paths that reveal different yet complementary directions of creation.
Giedrė Riškutė-Kariniauskienė, a professor at Vytautas Magnus University, is an artist with more than 30 solo exhibitions and extensive international experience in symposia and plein air projects. For many years she worked in scenography, creating sets and costumes for more than fifty theatre productions, as well as for Lithuanian Song and Dance Festivals and the international folklore festival “Baltica”. Her work is deeply inspired by nature and emotional states, expressed through colour, mood, and subtle painterly layers. Her paintings carry a sense of sensitivity and inner silence, inviting viewers into personal reflection.
Algimantas Patamsis, associate professor at Vytautas Magnus University and ceramic artist, is one of the few contemporary creators working with crystal glaze technology. In the exhibition he presents extraordinary urns—unique works where technical mastery merges with nature-inspired surfaces and deep symbolic meaning. His ceramics open up worlds reminiscent of galaxies, constellations, and organic structures, encouraging reflection on fragility and harmony of existence.
It is no coincidence that the exhibition is hosted at the LPC Art Gallery, part of a funeral services centre—a space where art meets fundamental questions of being. Here, themes of life’s fragility, memory, and inner experience are explored. It is a place where people pause to breathe in art, find calm, and reflect on life’s meaning.
During the opening, a special atmosphere will be created through a dialogue of music and art: folklore performer and TV host Loreta Sungailienė, known for her authentic connection to Lithuanian tradition, will participate, along with trombone virtuoso Vytautas Pilibavičius. Live music will merge with painting and ceramics, deepening the experience of art, emotion, and life itself.
“Two Paths” is not only an exhibition of two artists—it is an invitation for the viewer to pause, observe, and discover a personal relationship with art and with life.
The exhibition runs until July 1, 2026.
Gallery opening hours: daily from 09:00 to 19:00.
