Pianist Ignas Maknickas invites you to a concert featuring piano works by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Fryderyk Chopin and Ludwig van Beethoven.
The concert will open with preludes and other piano miniatures by M. K. Čiurlionis, characterised by subtle lyricism and a melancholic mood. This will be followed by four nocturnes by F. Chopin, which intertwine tranquillity, dreaminess and dramatic emotions.
The concert will conclude with one of L. van Beethoven’s last piano sonatas – Sonata No. 31 in A-flat major, Op. 110. This work brings together lyricism, drama and hope, while its finale provides a bright and uplifting conclusion to the concert.
