The theatre troupe “Teatronas” returns to the main stage of Lukiškės Prison with the musical performance “Make Love Outside.”
A performance about sex — so what’s there to be ashamed of? We invite you on an open-air date on July 28. By the way, more than one showing of this performance has already been completely sold out. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
The performance “Make Love” speaks openly and directly about sex and explores the difficulties arising in people’s intimate lives. Drawing on fiction, journalism, and consultations with sexologist Laura Butvilaitė, “Teatronas” invites audiences into a lively and bold discussion about topics that too often remain unspoken. Conversations left unsaid, unexpressed desires, and their consequences turn into loud songs without any euphemisms on stage.
“Our main goal is to make people want to hum about things they are ashamed to talk about. But I’ve seen enough audiences with my own eyes to guarantee that this performance achieves goals I never even thought of. And one more thing. I strongly suspect that this performance has contributed to Lithuania’s demographic growth. Possibly,” says the performance’s director Gildas Aleksa, inviting everyone to loudly hum along to uncomfortable songs.
The director also reveals that even those who have already seen the performance should come again. Every show is unique, and returning audiences will hear entirely new songs by the troupe. Naturally, about sex.
The music of Jokūbas Tulaba, the dramaturgical style of Kristina Marija Kulinič, Agnietė Lisičkinaitė’s perspective on bodies moving on stage, and the direction of Gildas Aleksa come together with actors Milda Naudžiūnaitė, Karolis Kasperavičius, Kasparas Varanavičius, and Kamilė Petruškevičiūtė. The stage will feature songs collectively written by ALL of these creators. About sex. Everything that is sometimes too awkward to talk about will now become a pleasure to hum.
