FREEDOM’S PATH: FROM THE BALTIC TO THE BLACK SEA
On August 23, 1939, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany redrew the map of Europe, triggering a war that claimed countless lives, forcibly changed the political systems of many countries, and turned Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia into parts of a foreign state.
After years of occupation, together with our Baltic sisters, we finally decided to draw our own line – one that would heal the wound inflicted by the criminal regimes of Stalin and Hitler. The Baltic Way became the movement that united our aspirations and efforts to reclaim our place in the world.
The Lithuanian Freedom Struggles Knowledge Centre, established by the Vytautas the Great War Museum, is organising a discussion dedicated to the Baltic Way and Ukraine’s Independence Day.
On August 27, commemorating the Baltic Way, we invite you to a discussion at the historic site cherished by A. Kentra, at Totorių St. 9 / Labdarių St. 10, Vilnius.
The event is free of charge. All are welcome!
