European Archaeology Days at the House of Stories

Archaeological tour in the exhibition “HISTORY WAGS ITS TAIL”

The relationship between humans and dogs is a friendship that has lasted for thousands of years. But how much do we really know about our best friends? During the tour, you will not only see but also hear about the Stone Age dog skulls and grave goods found in the settlement of Šventoji, as well as the grave from the 11th-12th centuries in a Latvian settlement, where a man and his dog were buried together. You will also learn what kinds of dogs were kept by Lithuanian rulers in the Lower Castle of Vilnius and how much information about these four-legged companions is encoded in the paw prints left on the bricks.

The tour is free of charge.
