Henrik Ibsen’s “Little Eyolf” | KJT

The actors of Klaipėda Youth Theatre have been performing on stage for 14 seasons, bringing their experience to complex and psychologically intense roles. This time, they present Henrik Ibsen’s powerful drama “Little Eyolf”.

The play tells the story of the Almers family, whose fragile world is shattered by an unexpected tragedy. Alfred and Rita Almers are raising their disabled son, Eyolf. Alfred is determined to make his son the centre of his life, giving up his career as a writer. But tragedy changes everything.

The production explores grief, guilt, revenge, responsibility and the hope of starting anew after devastating loss. It is a story about the fragility of love and the search for meaning when life no longer looks the way we imagined.

Anyone in a relationship or raising children may recognise the questions at the heart of the play: How long can we convince ourselves that nothing can be changed? And who is truly responsible for our failures in life?

The Klaipėda Youth Theatre production invites audiences into a safe yet emotionally intense space where they can look at their own lives from a distance.
