A Reviving Courtyard, Skateboards, a Concert, and Chagall in Vilnius | Museum Night at the Museum of Lithuanian Jewish Culture and Identity: Chagall’s Revelations, Courtyard Wonders, and Musical Embraces!
18:00 – UNVEILING OF THE CHAGALL NEO-FRESCO
The evening begins with the unveiling of a unique urban mural—a neo-fresco dedicated to the famed Litvak, Marc Chagall, whose connections to Vilnius have been little known until now. The artwork is a collaborative vision of stencil art master Lina Šlipavičiūtė and metal artist Lauryna Kiškytė. This layered piece of urban art captures the memory of interwar Vilnius.
EDUCATION / INTERACTIVE GAME – FIND THE HIDDEN SHTETL ANIMALS IN THE MUSEUM
After the fresco unveiling, families are invited to take part in an interactive educational adventure through the museum, guided by actress Viola Klimčiauskaitė and historian Gintarė Žuravliovaitė. As we explore the exhibits, we’ll solve puzzles and crosswords to find little shtetl animals hiding around the museum. Once we’ve found these mischievous creatures, we’ll head to a workshop to decorate them in vibrant spring colors. If you’re lucky enough to find a goat or a lamb, you’re welcome to leave it to graze in our courtyard. You’ll be able to visit and feed it hay all summer long!
MUSEUM COURTYARD: RENATA MIKAILIONYTĖ’S GREEN VISION
The neo-fresco is located in the newly revived museum courtyard, designed by Renata Mikailionytė—stylist, designer, and ambassador of fashion and beauty. In her hands, the courtyard has become a welcoming oasis infused with the spirit of the Jewish shtetl, featuring subtle plant compositions that invite visitors not only to admire but to stay and relax.
20:00 – CONCERT BY MARIJA BERŽĖ: A LIVE MUSICAL EMBRACE
The courtyard stage will welcome Marija Beržė—a singer-songwriter and heartfelt performer. Her concert offers not just music, but an emotional connection. With a powerful voice, sincerity, and radiant feminine energy, Marija will deliver warmth—from the classic “What’s Up” to her original songs. All performed acoustically, gently, and with love.
ALL EVENING: COURTYARD CAFÉ
A musical café will be open in the courtyard throughout the evening, offering treats and a chance to enjoy the evening buzz and harmony of art.
