“Fusion is Love” is the last listening session of the season, with music that bridges different cultures, periods and experiences.
Differences between instruments and styles, cultural traditions, historical backgrounds of nations, musicians’ schools or listeners’ experiences may at first sight seem like barriers to emotional communication through sound. However, the impact of these differences depends on the level of musicianship. Standing at the foot of a mountain, people from different sides may not be able to see each other, but as you go up, the differences become less and less of a barrier. At the top, everyone meets and then it becomes clear: what seemed like a barrier often becomes a slope of energy and synergy.
This is why fusion has always attracted musicians – as a space of freedom, where it is possible to go beyond genres, styles, instruments or cultural boundaries, to transcend oneself, to open oneself up to collaboration, and together to create something new, unexpected and real, which is born out of differences.
The playlist for the session is prepared by Artašės Gazarian.
