About event

On Friday, 2 October at 8 pm, the LAA Gallery „Arka“ invites the audience to the opening of the exhibition „Barriers“.

The flow of the subconscious moves as if in separate sentences. One breaks off, another begins somewhere entirely different. Some return, repeating themselves and changing their meaning. Gradually, a story begins to take shape from them. Not always coherent, not always consciously told.
Barriers. Although the word itself suggests distance or a boundary, it also contains within it the possibility of connection. Yet this exhibition is a collision of different gestures, places, and experiences. The works located at separate points throughout the gallery come together like sentences in a single, not always spoken aloud, narrative. Here, memory is neither tangible nor complete. It functions more as an intuition, returning through repetitions, images, and emotional echoes.
Details of everyday life become a way of approaching that which cannot always be fully explained. Place and domestic life inscribe themselves into a personal emotional landscape, while what seems familiar begins to reveal itself as unfamiliar. Yet what is marked are not only the boundaries between outside and inside, memory and the present, but also those between Me and You. Between what can be said and what remains unspoken. Between the sense of a question and the absence of an answer.
Me. You. Between us – barriers. And perhaps it is precisely within them that the possibility of meeting emerges.

Participants: Sandra Kvilytė, Saulius Paliukas, Linas Jurčiukonis, Petras Lincevičius, Benjaminas Ančeris, Lukas Marciulevičius, Karolina Latvytė-Bibiano, Lilija Gotautaitė-Smalinskė, Jovita Akštikalnytė-Varkulevičienė.
