Free Cinema Under the Stars | Vilnius TV Tower

Summer continues, and so do the free outdoor cinema events!

On August 27, join us for a film picnic in the meadow beneath the Vilnius TV Tower.

At this edition of “Cinema Under the Stars”, we will screen three Lithuanian short films, followed by the film Rental Family.

Programme:

• 18:00–19:30 – Renovation (dir. Gabrielė Urbonaitė, 2025)
• 19:45–20:05 – Close Contact (dir. Augustė Gerikaitė, 2025)
• 20:05–20:20 – Loving (dir. Vesta Tučkutė, 2026)
• 20:30–22:15 – Total Drama (dir. Kristoffer Borgli, 2026)

About the films:

Renovation (dir. Gabrielė Urbonaitė, 2025) – A romantic drama about a renovated apartment building and the doubts that arise in the relationship of a couple who move into it. Gabrielė Urbonaitė was named the Best Baltic Director at the Tallinn Film Festival.

Close Contact (dir. Augustė Gerikaitė, 2025) – A homophobic man discovers a severely beaten drag queen named Klaudijus in the stairwell of an apartment building and is forced to decide what happens to the victim.
Presented by LATGA.

Loving (dir. Vesta Tučkutė, 2026) – The story of Adela and Benas, two strangers whose brief encounter in Lithuania develops into a gentle yet profound connection.

Total Drama (dir. Kristoffer Borgli, 2026) – The most dramatic wedding of the year. Just days before the big celebration, the groom discovers his fiancée’s darkest secret.

Festival partner Orijen invites you to bring your dogs along – they will provide treats and refreshments for your four-legged friends!

Meanwhile, Švyturys and Nephalia non-alcoholic sparkling wine will offer refreshments to festival-goers during the picnic.

The event is free of charge.
