Exhibition of Asta Butėnienė’s paintings

Asta is constantly full of ideas and thoughts, which very quickly settle on the canvas. As soon as the paint dries, the paintings find new homes all over the world. That is why her works are widely distributed both in Europe and Australia, and the author has been creating for several decades, which is why she has accumulated a lot of work. Some of them are still the beginnings of her work, and others are the most recent, still smelling of paint from the studio in Vilnius. So this time Asta was not afraid to show you the diversity of her work. Let’s feel how good it is to (not) forget an old thing, but at the same time (not) discover new things. Since the artist has lived in many countries of the world and is constantly actively traveling, this can be felt in her work. In one place, the mountains of Switzerland dominate, in another – the cold Baltic Sea lapping at the Estonian coast. The colors are often evoked by memories of sunny Portugal, Australia and other southern countries, where the author had to travel so intensively, live, create, get to know the local culture, people and customs.
