What is the European Union? How does it work? What do the main EU institutions do, and how are their decisions connected to the Member States?
We invite young people aged 18–29 to the first seminar of the EU-MATTER project, where we will explore how the European Union works and why its decisions are not as distant from our everyday lives as they may sometimes seem.
We will also discuss questions that are particularly relevant to Lithuania: Can a small state influence EU policymaking? What does sovereignty mean in the context of the European Union? And what lessons can be learned from the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU?
The seminar will be led by Prof. Ramūnas Vilpišauskas.
Whether this is your first encounter with the topic or you already have a strong understanding of the EU, the event is open to all registered participants.
