Desires, Saints, and Other Notes on the Infinity

The performance combines elements of movement, performance art, and live music. Inspired by the aesthetics of the Baroque era and the poetry of Sarbiewski, the piece explores the theatricality of imagery and considers the themes of death and rebirth.

The interdisciplinary work becomes an open, ceremonial experience that invites to be present, to observe, and to immerse in a dream inspired by Baroque aesthetics and values.

“I am interested in what lies beyond a narrative – the structure of sensation, the form as an expression of feeling, the temporary nature of theatre – something that emerges and disappears in an instant. The Baroque era is important not as a stylistic façade but as a worldview: the tension between fragility and excess, the theatricality of life, death as a constant shadow. For me, theatre is, above all, a ritual – not a spectacle to be observed, but an experience to be participated in.
So we return to this origin: where theatre arises not from plot, but from atmosphere, imagery, fragments of different media merging into a unified experience for the viewer.

We create a theatrical space where the viewer is the central figure. Everything is made for them, around them. They are free to move, choose their position, pause, and listen.
We shape a kind of ceremony – a fragile yet intense immersion in the contemplation of the transience of being and its solemn beauty” – says director of the performance Paulius Markevičius.
