On the second day of Christmas, JAUNA MUZIKA Choir invites you to extend the festive season through music. On December 26, two traditional Christmas concerts will take place at St. Catherine’s Church in Vilnius, with the harp playing a special role in this year’s programme. Lithuanian harpist Liucilė Vilimaitė will join the choir.
At the heart of DEO GRACIAS is Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, a colourful musical work bringing together choral voices and harp. The programme also features Stephen Paulus’s Jesu Carols, Kurt Bikkembergs’s Songs About Love, and John Cage’s In a Landscape for solo harp.
These contrasting works explore a range of musical moods, from festive joy and energy to tenderness, reflection and tranquillity.
Join us for an evening of choral music, the delicate sound of the harp and the warmth of Christmas.
