Signs of Memory and Identity: Denis Kolomycki’s Exhibition at Vilnius Town Hall
On July 2, Vilnius Town Hall will open “Embellishments,” a solo exhibition by artist Denis Kolomycki, presenting paintings and objects created during different periods of his artistic practice. The exhibition invites visitors to see, in one space, how the artist’s themes, thinking and forms of expression have changed over the past decade, while maintaining a consistent focus on human experience, memory and questions of identity.
Kolomycki works across various media, from performance and installation to painting, photography and objects. In his works, personal experiences, social encounters and fragments of everyday life become part of broader narratives about a person’s relationship with themselves, others and their surroundings. The artist is interested in how we remember, what we choose to preserve and what we forget.
“This exhibition is not an attempt to summarize my work. Rather, it is a meeting with different layers of time — works that return like memories, sometimes clear, sometimes fragmented,” says Kolomycki.
Town Hall is closed on public holidays
