Christos Yerolatsitis (Kipras) | UNITY

When jazz meets contemporary music, improvisation becomes a language and rhythm becomes a story.
On August 29, the international project “Unity”—led by Cypriot pianist, keyboardist, and composer Christos Yerolatsitis—will make its debut on the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB stage.

This event brings together four exceptional European musicians on a single stage. Joining Christos are Toms Rudzinskis—one of the Baltic region’s most prominent saxophonists—drummer Stelios Xydias, and bassist Cahit Kutrafali; these are performers whose musical backgrounds blend diverse cultures, traditions, and contemporary jazz styles.

The music of “Unity” emerges from a fusion of free improvisation, hypnotic rhythms, and sensitive melodies. It is contemporary jazz where complex musical ideas are conveyed with ease and natural flow, making the concert captivating not only for jazz aficionados but for anyone seeking a vibrant, emotional, and authentic musical experience.

Each piece is like a living dialogue between the musicians, where spontaneity merges with precise arrangements, and high energy shifts into calm, introspective moments. It is precisely this balance that gives the project its name: “Unity”—a oneness born from distinct voices.
