BRAM VAN LANGEN

Sometimes, a single guitar, a single voice, and a single song are all it takes for time to stand still for a moment.

On August 29, DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB will host the debut performance of Bram van Langen, an exceptional Dutch singer-songwriter. Hailing from Amsterdam, he has performed over a thousand concerts across Europe—ranging from intimate living rooms and chamber venues to legendary stages like Paradiso and Melkweg.

Bram creates music that takes its time. His songs blend delicate melodies, a warm acoustic sound, and profound stories inspired by legends such as Nick Drake, Paul Simon, James Taylor, and Paul McCartney. It is music that invites you to pause, catch your breath, and forget the rushing world for at least an hour.

A special atmosphere is also created by an instrument rarely seen in concert: a nearly century-old Swedish harp guitar, whose rich, unique sound has become an integral part of Bram’s performances.

Having released his debut album, *Island*, last year, the artist is touring Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium—and is now coming to Lithuania for the first time.

On this tour, Bram performs alongside other musicians, reinterpreting his work through the rich tones of the cello, saxophone, trombone, piano, mandolin, and other instruments. Each arrangement is crafted to preserve the defining quality of his music: sensitivity, serenity, and a sincere connection with the listener.

If you enjoy the likes of Ben Howard, Nick Drake, José González, Damien Rice, or early James Taylor, this evening could become one of your most beautiful musical discoveries of the summer.

One evening. Authentic music. No noise. Just stories that stay with you long after the final chord.

The “Dainykla” project is partially funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
