This year marks the 70th anniversary<\/strong> of the birth of Faustas Lat\u0117nas<\/strong>, one of Lithuania’s most distinguished composers and a recipient of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts. On September 30 at 7:00 PM,<\/strong> the Vilnius Shalom Festival invites you to a special concert at Vilnius Town Hall<\/strong>, dedicated to honoring the memory of the maestro and his significant contribution to Lithuanian music and the cultural heritage of the Litvaks.<\/p>\n

The evening’s program will feature some of Faustas Lat\u0117nas’ finest chamber music works, revealing his distinctive musical language\u2014deeply emotional, theatrical, and profoundly moving. The music will be performed by one of Lithuania’s leading string ensembles, Mettis Quartet, together with Lithuanian pianist Vytis \u0160ak\u016bras, who is currently based in Germany.<\/p>\n

Vilnius Shalom Festival<\/strong> is the third international festival of Jewish music and culture, held in Lithuanian capital Vilnius, a city often referred to as the Jerusalem of the North. From September 13 to October 7, enjoy a rich program of classical, jazz, and klezmer concerts, the Shofar March, and educational events.<\/p>\n
